CEO – James Frame
James Frame - has a Bachelor of Economics and has been working in the natural products industry since 1997. During this time he has set up a global supply network with operations in Australia, Peru and Vanuatu. Over the last five years James and the NHI team have put into place Natural Health International’s entire global infrastructure, distribution network and core business for the company’s launch in 2006.
James has a comprehensive knowledge of the Natural Products Industry and has established strong commercial ties with some of the largest natural product manufacturers in the USA - Pure World Botanicals and in Europe – Indena. He has been heavily involved in the privatization of the kava market in Vanuatu, which up until February 1998 was a prescribed commodity, controlled by the Vanuatu Commodities Marketing Board (VCMB). Since this time he has moved on to become one of the biggest exporters of kava in the world with sales in excess of 300 tons. NHI is also involved in the export of Tamanu Oil and other natural products from Vanuatu. James was also instrumental in establishing the St. John’s Wort industry in Australia as a viable alternative to product from Chile and Eastern Europe. He worked as Managing Director of Wild Herbs Australia from its incorporation in 1998. Due to the immense interest in St. John’s Wort from around the world James was able to secure orders for over 500 tons in 1998.
The vertical integration of these businesses has resulted in NHI’s current ability to supply the highest quality raw materials in the world and provides the foundation for their unparalleled 100% natural range of finished products that have full therapeutic efficacy while maintaining the purity and integrity of the herbs.
Director of Research & Development – Dr Henry Meissner
Dr Henry Meissner has over forty years experience in the natural products industry. He has a Bachelor of Science, a Masters in Environmental Physiology and a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry. Achievements include an award for being one of the “2000 outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century" from The International Bibliographical Center, Cambridge, England (2001), and "Five Hundred Leaders of Influence" from American Bibliographical Institute (2000). Through his academic endeavors he has served on a variety of boards throughout his career and has published over 300 research and technical papers in professional journals.
Henry’s diversity of projects has taken him around the world. He has undertaken projects in Poland, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, China, Japan, India, Hawaii and Peru. He is currently the Executive Director of Technology Transfer and Development International a company that specializes in the design of dietary supplements, medicinal herbal products and functional foods. He was also the Chairman of Therapeutic Research Oceania, Chairman of the Greening China Fund in Hong Kong – ZhuHai, China; Project Coordinator for the Therapeutic Research Project on Medicinal Herbs at the Research Institute for Medicinal Herbs in Poznan, Poland and currently he has accepted the position of the Director of Research and Development for Natural Health International. During 40 years of theoretical and technical research on herbal extracts and biochemical and nutritional aspects of their clinical and practical application, Henry has designed functional dietary preparations, health and herbal therapeutic products and established commercial-scale extraction and fractionation facilities. He has implemented technologies for processing medicinal herbs and biomass from a wide range of cultivated plant species and has designed, established and coordinated a multi-disciplinary international environmental project for ecological rehabilitation and sustainable agriculture in China. Over the last ten years Henry has also designed and headed up numerous pharmacognostic and clinical studies on natural therapeutics and medicinal preparations for use as preventive and all-natural dietary supplements for a variety of health conditions.
Business Development - Jan Roberts
Jan Roberts has spent almost 40 years in the health care industry, 20 of those working in the area of women’s reproductive health. She is a pharmacist with a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Nutrition and the Australian representative for Foresight the British Association famous for its work in promoting preconception health care. As co-author of the international best selling series The Natural Way to Better Babies …Better Pregnancy … Better Birth & Bonding … and Better Breastfeeding, Jan has presented ‘preconception’ and ‘wellness’ workshops and seminars to the general public and health professionals around Australia and NZ since 1987. She has made frequent appearances on radio and TV and is a regular contributor to various magazines and journals.
Jan was the co-founder of one of the first Wellness Centers in Australia, later becoming the Director of Integrative Medicine at Spa Chakra - Australia’s premier day spa where she developed programs for preconception, anti-ageing, vitality and longevity. Now, as Director of Well4life and Well4work, she provides educational material and complementary programs, services and products that support clients in their quest for total health and wellbeing - work which has great synergy with her role with Natural Health International.
Paul Ramsay AO
Paul Ramsay AO has been involved in health care since 1964 when he developed and managed one of the first private psychiatric hospitals in Sydney Australia. He is Chairman and major shareholder of Ramsay Health Care listed on the Australian stock exchange and the largest private hospital operator in the country. In 2002, Mr Ramsay was conferred an Officer of the Order of Australia for services to the community through the establishment of private health care facilities, expanding regional television services and as a benefactor to a range of educational, cultural, artistic and sporting organizations. Mr Ramsay is also involved in two other listed companies as the chairman of Prime Television Limited and on the board of Becker Group Limited.
Brian James
Brian James is a Chartered Accountant with over forty years experience in public practice and business consulting. Brian was a partner in a major national public accounting firm, PKF, for twenty eight years during which period he held the position of Sydney Managing Partner and National Chairman. In the last five years Brian has been carrying out business consulting assignments for a broad range of clients including the Paul Ramsay Group, NSW Casino Control Authority and Maritime Industry Finance Company Limited, a company established by the Federal Government to conduct reform on the Australian waterfront. Brian’s experience encompasses a wide range of industries, including health care, information technology, e-learning, media and advertising.
Bill Henry
Bill Henry is an attorney who has been practicing in Sydney Australia in the business law area for over 30 years, including acting as general counsel for a major Australian-based international publicly listed company for a number of years. He also holds an MBA from Texas Tech and has been involved in a number of commercial ventures, including acting as a director and chairman of the board for a number of them.
Charles Allen CBE
Charles Allen has over 30 years experience in business; 20 years as a FTSE 100 Director, Ex CEO and board member of ITV one of the UK’s largest TV networks, Non-executive Director of the London Olympic committee and Non-executive Director of Tesco. In 2003 Mr Allen was awarded the Commander of the British Empire for his services to sport and community.
